What does it mean when you test positive for COVID ?

I have a friend that tested positive but he said he doesn’t feel weak or funny, no fever, cough or chest pain, but he’s positive

Because COVID isn’t as bad as people are saying, there is a 99.7% survival rate and we’ve all been duped.

It means you have a certain amount of the live virus in your system.  And you might be contagious, though without coughing or sneezing, there is less chance of that.

I would say it means you are infected; but then, are you really infected if you don't have any signs or symptoms?  Maybe the virus is in your body, but it's not hurting you.

This is not a rare thing.  You have heard of the deadly strain of E. coli?  Most strains can make you sick but are not deadly.  I recall the first outbreak of the deadly strain, and actually only a few people in the city died, and not so many more got sick. In fact, only children got sick.  But they tested all the family and contacts of the patients, and found they tested positive; after a suitable time, they tested negative again.  Similar to what happens with covid; but it wasn't airborne, and so it was easy to end the outbreak.

Once in Virginia, some monkeys were imported that had Ebola.  A number of people that had contact with them tested positive, but never got sick.  After a time, they tested negative again.  It was a strain of Ebola that is asymptomatic in humans.  The monkeys died though.

It means you have the bacteria (virus) that causes covid inside your immune system but it hasn’t activated yet

MANY people have had COVID with no symptoms at all.  They can still spread it, though, so beware.

It’s possible the test he took was a

false positive. The PCR test is known for being as much as 90% inaccurate. False positives are still counted as cases. So it’s possible if he gets another test it could come back negative.

Covid affects everyone differently. Best to avoid contracting it.
