I saw a headline “unprecedented  and apocalyptic surge in COVID-19 cases. Do these headlines turn people off from taking it serious?

If they just had headlines like “ citizens urge to use caution and mask up as Covid cases rise“ instead of words like apocalyptic and unprecedented that would people take it more seriously instead of considering it just to be media hype.  I consider it serious but I don’t think it’s the apocalypse and I wear a mask everywhere but I don’t stay at home and refuse to leave my house since March.  I also plan private visits over Christmas instead of staying at home only, however I will not be hosting a Christmas party and I think it’s definitely not the year for parties.
