does mashed potatoes go well with jello ?

I served this at thanksgivin and everyone looked at me crazy

    Like, served them together? You wanted people to put jello on mashed potatoes? Are you a troll or stupid?

    I'm not surprised!   Maybe a little 'mint jelly' served with a lamb roast dinner.

    A "salad" made with Jell-O is not unheard of. And I can see it being served as an option. 

    I would not "serve" it as in put it on someone's plate for them. If it were at a dinner that I was invited to I probably would not take any.
