Why is fornication a sin ?

I mean, nearly everybody has had or is having sex with somebody not married. Why does God hate it so much? Marriage is man made and is nothing but a symbolic meaning and the action is still the same. I dont get it. Why would God put so much importance on a man made law?

Wrong, marriage is an institute given by God. Marriage shows the love between Christ and the Church. Man represents Christ and is commanded to love his wife like Christ loved the church. Woman is commanded to see the Man as her Head.

When you have sex you become one with each other. It is meant for 1 man and 1 woman. If you have sex with another you will also become one with that person and all the persons he or she slept with. That is not good.

Sex is and for good reason considered worst than killing in more cases than killing is worse than sex.

God knows that too many sexual partners diminishes sex and it also makes it hard to stay committed and God is all about commitments.  Then the other aspect is children.  A child wants only one mom and one dad.  They don't understand 2 moms or 2 dads.

The primary purpose of the Abrahamic religions is to gain male control over female reproductive capability.

What's your point? It is not  manmade law that sex outside of marriage is sinful. It is a Godmade law. Marriage provides for the care and raising of children, and the purpose of sex, in case you haven't heard, is the production of children. Of course, we don't have to worry about that because manmade law also allows us to murder our children during the first nine months of their lives.

Millions of Christians have never had sex outside of the marriage contract, whether married or unmarried. They respect God's arrangement for the gift of sex and how proper use of it protects any resultant children, as well as gives deeply satisfying fulfillment to the married couple. Sex properly used binds people together. Sex improperly used causes division, distrust and even hatred. That's because it usually involves lies, stealing, and selfishness.

Humans did not invent sex - we are gifted with wonderful organs that give immense pleasure and the privilege of procreation. But this generation has been brainwashed into thinking it's just for fun, it's everybody's right, and no harm is done by sleeping around. The media has got you just where it wants you, and as licentious sex gratifies carnal desires, most of the world eagerly pursues it, ignoring STDs, unwanted children, the risk of a cuckoled husband out to kill you, and emotional distress all around. God hates such sin because He created a man to be married to a woman for life, as "the two become one flesh". Wrongful sex ruins the peace and joy of rightful sex. God knows this. Today's generation does not.

Because marriage is not man made.  Genesis 2:24 says that a man will leave his father and mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.  GOD instituted that arrangement, in fact He officiated over the first marriage, because when He brought Eve to the man, the account called her his WIFE, not girlfriend.

Jesus in commenting on that account said "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has brought together, let no man put apart." Matthew 19:4-6

Fornication is a kind is a lust and not love. It creates a wrongful path that will stay with you on you journey.

With or without children involve it is a sin which leds to more sin. Creating a devils playground. It bring negativity into your life and heart ache into soul.

Lust is easy to see. When you lust something you do everything in your power to consume it. You want to appease it. You want to worship it.

Love is when you care for the person so much to may have to hurt them to protect them. To teach them right from wrong. To guide them.

Marriage is a contract that is not easy broken. Lust in a marriage can not stand. It will die. But love will bond them to stay together thru fighting and understanding.

Many people today get marriage because they lust after the other. Most time it they fall into a trap as teenagers and the hormones are not yet complete to take on a challenge like love. Many parents in a relationships have experiences this, but teaching a teenager about it is like trying to put out fire with oil.

" . . . nearly everybody has had or is having sex with somebody not married." You mean everybody YOU know.

It's a sin because sex isn't just gymnastics for getting your jolies.  It's intended as an expression of love and commitment between husband and wife.  And marriage isn't man-made.  The first marriage -- even though it wasn't called that -- was between Adam and Eve, with no third parties involved.

Eddie -- "Christians believe that all your imperfections can be forgiven if you simply ACCEPT that Jesus was perfect and was sacrificed."  You mean YOUR understanding of the concept is "ridiculous."  There's no forgiveness without worshiping Jesus as God the Son, and repenting of your wrongdoings.

Fornication is an outmoded and quaint word which has little meaning today.
