Your spinal column is made from a series of bones which are stacked on top of one another. These bones are cushioned by discs which are in between each of the bones. When the inner portion of a disc in the spinal column is injured or weak, it will protrude to the outer portion of the disc. This can protrusion is called a herniated disc. When someone has a herniated disc some of the symptoms that can occur pain and numbness on one side of the body, pain that worsens with certain movements of the body, muscle weakness, tingling, aching and burning sensations.
