Why are so many people having babies before marriage?
It disgusts me. I’m sorry. What is the appeal?
Ps: Marriage takes work.
Ps: LOL Jerry ;)

Because men are more concerned about spreading their seed then they are about commitmentSource(s): Rules of engagement

It's all the women's fault, men are only doing what they are allowed to do. If women kept their legs together until marriage, this wouldn't be a problem now would it.

The marriage itself should not be a concern..... You didn't specify which age to get a baby is bothering you!Source(s): The marriage itself should not be a concern..... You didn't specify which age to get a baby is bothering you!

This isn't about marriage. This is about a welfare check.
How to get free handouts from us taxpayers is taught
by one generation to another. It is nothing for a house
to receive a welfare check for the grandmother, daughter,
and grandchild all at the same time.
I believe a person receiving a welfare check should be
sterilized so they can't bring another child into this world
that they cannot support on their own without us footing
the bill to feed it.

Many childbearing aged people have lived through their parents' ugly divorces and believe they're somehow sparing themselves that fate by not marrying. Of course even just a bf/gf breakup becomes a nightmare when kids are involved. Other times an "accidental" pregnancy is a ploy to get someone to commit to marriage and when that doesn't work you've got a baby without a marriage.

Marriage doesn't take much work, apart from the father of the bride.
RELATIONSHIPS take work.
Marriage is a pretty ceremony which costs lots of money. That's it.

People have been having babies before marriage/out of wedlock for thousands of years. It's nothing new.

As long as the child is in a happy loving family, does it matter?

Marriage is increasingly becoming confined to the well-educated and well-off, so quite honestly pregnancy is easier for a lot of people to achieve than marriage. You have your entire life to potentially get married, but only so many years to have babies.
That said, the majority of children born out of wedlock are unplanned. While some pregnancies truly are unintended, a large number are also the result of not-trying-but-not-preventing. The more reasons a person has to avoid unplanned pregnancy the more generally consistent they are at using contraceptives, but when a person feels they have few education or job opportunities beyond what they currently have, a child may be the one thing they feel they can achieve that will give their life meaning.

It's really none of your business. But I suppose you have no other interests in your life.
