Is Central Park in New York City open to the public at night?

I don't know who to believe, one of you is saying it's open all night another is saying it closes at midnight.

ALL New York City parks are legally closed to the public from midnight (1 am if a concert or other event is held) until dawn.  Being in a park during the closed hours can bring an arrest for trespassing and other charges

The park is free to walk or run thru all the time........but only a complete fool or drunk would venture into parts of it at NIGHT.

There are no gates.......the park is open 24/7......but  many attractions are closed at night......if not all of them.

    From their website:

Central Park is free and open to visitors 365 days a year. The Park opens at 6:00 am and closes at 1:00 am.

With that said, you should not wander the park after sundown unless you are attending an event, such as a concert, and are in a group.
