Why is my ssi case still pending it's been 8 months?

    Maybe it's because they have videos of you working and.doing what you say you can't do because of your disabilty.

    It takes 2 to 3 months to process a new claim.  2 months to process a reconsideration.  1 to 2 years to process a request for a hearing.  A little over 1 year to process an Appeals Council Review which is the last decision SS makes on a claim.  After that you file an appeal with the US Federal District Court or start all over again.

    How are we to know why?  Call 1-800-772-1213 and ask.

    I was a SS claims rep for 32 yrs.

    It can take up to two years

    Only 8 months?  Many cases two years to get settled.  8 months is not worth mentioning.

    Did you forget we're in the middle of a pandemic?  That alone will slow things down.
