I am 61 and wake-up with pain in my hips/tail bone for a couple hours.. what could it be?

Lack of exercise would usually be the cause. Go out for walks, and learn stretching exercises to keep the muscles and tendons from getting tight.
Even if you do not exercise much, you can stretch every day. You can find info online.
You are getting older, and old people get stiff, but not if they stretch or do things like Tai Chi. You can loosen up and feel younger.

Get used to it because your going to start having aches in places that never ached before.

Best treatment will probably be light exercise and maybe a massage therapist.
