What is keeping the Philippines poor? ?

Philippines is a third world country with very poor statistical data in terms of education and what they can achieve on paper. Is it education or the politics that take place here in the Philippines? Or could it possibly be the very culture here in the Philippines that is keeping its people poor?

A lot of things, years of voting in incompetent self serving politicians who are corrupt and all in it for themselves from local to national, many win through the ignorance of voters to bribery, (last election there were people offering money to vote the next president they want in power.)

Rebel groups and their violence make certain regions poorer too.

Filipinos who can afford an education are quite educated, the education here is ok. Just many can't afford an education, there are cheap government schools, but not so good, university is where it all happens and they're very pricey.

Actually, the country is actually rich. But most Filipinos cannot feel it because of greedy politicians, used to being employees, and are not skilled at handling money.

    Capitalism.

Profits going to shareholders and CEO's rather than to the people who do the actual work
