Would a Wall Between the U.S. and Mexico be Any More Effective Than the Maginot Line was in the Second World War?

No, much less so, in fact.

A stick of dynamite or an oxy torch would soon make a hole in it.

The reason that the Maginot Line was not effective was that it did not cover the border with Luxembourg and Belgium.

Nope. Even the teeny tiny bit of wall that Trump's corrupt gang of clowns has been able to construct so far is either falling down because of erosion, or has been breached by some guy with a cheap power tool from his friendly local hardware store.

As the old saying goes: a lock will keep an honest person out of your house. The maginot line held where it was respected; it just didn't stretch far enough
