They can understand words as signals but not as language. Rather like dogs, chimps, and many other animals.

Yes, if you associate them with meanings. Just hearing words does nothing. For example if you say the word fantastic, it means nothing to them. If they get food every time they hear the word fantastic, then they will expect food when they hear that word

Come and get it guys, they know it is treat time.
Probably compare to dogs.

Yes, if properly trained. Pigs rank as the smartest among domestic animal species.
