The number of boys in the tennis club is 10 more than half the number of girls. There are 30 boys in the tennis club. Altogether, how many boys and girls are in the club?

Relevance
• It depends which gender they feel like. Psychology triumphed over physiology.

• 30 boys and 40 girls

• m = 30 = f/2+10

f = (30-10)*2= 40

m+f = 30+40 = 70

• The number of girls=(30-10)*2=40

=>

the total number of members in the club=30+40=70.

• 30 is 10 more than 20 .

20 is half of 40 .

30 + 40 = 70 .

There are 70 boys and girls in the club .

• let b - boys

g - girls

b = g/2 + 10

when b = 30

30 = g/2 + 10

60 = g + 20

60 - 20 = g

g = 40

g + b = 30 + 40 = 70

Therefor, there are 70 members in a tennis club..

• The number of boys in the tennis club is 10 more than half the number of girls.

There are 30 boys in the tennis club.

30 = g/2 + 10

g = 40

Altogether, there are 70 boys and girls in the club.

• Let g be the number of girls.

You are told the number of boys is 10 more than half the number of girls:

g/2 + 10

And you are also told there are 30 boys:

g/2 + 10 = 30

Subtract 10 from both sides:

g/2 = 20

Multiply both sides by 2:

g = 40

There are 30 boys and 40 girls. Add those together to get the total number of members.

70 boys and girls are in the club.

• B=G/2+10

B=30

B-10=G/2=20>>G=40

B+G=30+40=70
