What is this thing found on a west coast beach?

Found today, 9/16 around 5pm, washed up on the shore of the Marin Headlands (just north of San Francisco)

My boyfriend first thought it was a jellyfish from afar, but we've only ever seen transparent ones, and when I got up close it looks like the color of raw chicken but in the shape of a fetus. It was also kind of hard but jelly-like, like a chicken breast. Our guesses:

- a marine mammal fetus

- a chicken breast from fishing that weirdly got put into the shape of a marine mammal fetus
