Do you think eggs that have a best before date of 4th September, 2020 will still be ok to eat?

Absolutely fine to eat. “Best Before” means just that. Not that they are bad after that date. If they have gone bad, you can smell it when you crack it.

PS The float/sink think is only about freshness, not going bad.

They are fine. If you are nervous, break one open and sniff.

I'd have though so but why not just crack one open and see?

If eggs are reasonably fresh when they are bought they’ll last for many weeks or even months.

When in doubt with raw eggs, get a pot of water, put the eggs in the pot, if the sink they're OK, if they float, they're not OK.

But either way, opening the eggs, your eyes and nose will be your best judge on if they're edible or not.

They should be OK. It is easy to tell if an egg is off as it will have a strong, unpleasant sulphurous smell.
