That wouldn't be the biggest surprise --- they'd finally realize that the Moon is a flat disk that only shows one side to the Earth, and it's really a thin coating of green cheese that is stuck to the crystalline sphere of the heavens.

Here's a page of depictions of what astronomers thought the surface of our nearest neighbour looked like before people landed there:

As soon as they actually got there, the art style changed because they realised it was dustier and had rounder hills etc.  This was because of the successful Apollo landings.

Why don't you go first and find out, then you can come back and tell the rest of us, then you wait a week or two and find that there is a boat load of messages on the internet stating that you never went and it was all a government conspiracy. Be safe.

. . . and then, upon returning to earth, we discover that no one ever took off.  How about that?

There were two manned landings in 1969, and four from 1970-72.  Only fools and anti-American trolls question this.  The USSR had a "peace-loving fishing trawler" (a/k/a spy ship) off Cape Canaveral for every Apollo launch, and a spy satellite around the Moon for Apollo 11.  Unmanned spacecraft in orbit of the Moon in recent years from Russia, China, European Space Agency, Japan and India have photographed five Apollo sites.  Hundreds of scientists from dozens of countries have studied lunar materials returned by Apollo.

The people who don't believe 12 men were on the moon in 1969-1973 wouldn't believe it if people went to the moon now.

I think NASA should send you there to determine that.

Ignorant, uneducated folks like you don't deserve to be on Earth.
