Since you can't spell intercom, your request to annoy people is DENIED.

  • no, he is to observe and report

He's powers are only limited to his own jurisdiction, the shopping centre.

They have the right to detain you until the police arrive. They are thoroughly trained in performing a "citizen's arrest".

In most states, they are allowed to handcuff / ziptie you while waiting.

You should also be aware that Walmart has great video surveillance.

No, as they are just two different jobs.

They're not on-duty police officers, so no, they don't have the same powers. (But some are former police officers, or are police officers in their second job.)

However, they absolutely do have the right to detain you, and to protect the store, its property, its employees, and its customers. And they make great, reliable witnesses when they make a police report. If you're caught doing a "prank" and run, that's a good sign you're aware of your criminal guilt.

"Prank" seems to be the new idiot's term for knowingly & willingly breaking the law.  Here's a better idea, child:  1.  Don't do it .  2.  Grow up.  Nothing will stop the security or police from beating you senseless & saying you "resisted arrest" or "tried to escape lawful custody."

No, they do not have the same powers as a police officer. But they do have the authority to detain you until the police arrive and then the police (and only the police) would have the authority to arrest you.
