Yes there are risks as you dont know whether the other person is infected or not. Covid 19 does not actually spread through sexual contacts but through breathing as you cant escape this when you have sex as you both are so close. So possibilities are that you both may open up your mouth and even breathe in and out and the virus would just pop out through air and travel into one anothers body through mouth. So things like kissing is also risky as the saliva containing the virus is exchanged between both of you.

As heavy breathing is involved, yes as this is in the air you breathe.

Well, considering that, during sex we sometimes breathe in each other's faces and are in close proximity to each other, yes. -- unless neither person has the virus, then NO

  • From the actual act of having intercourse or oral sex, no. Covid 19 is a respiratory infection. But if they have it and breath heavily during sex, or they cough or sneeze on you then you could end up getting it.

Unless you can have sex 6 feet away from someone, you can get it.

Yes. Sex (if done correctly) often involves a lot of heavy breathing and likely exchange of respiratory fluids. It is not yet known if COVID can be transmitted through semen and/or vaginal fluids, but barrier methods would protect against that and mitigate some of the risk. I know the NYC health department suggested sex through a gloryhole as a safer option. Citing this recommendation, the Canadian CDC for the region of British Columbia issued the same recommendation, and was even more blunt than the language used in the NYC guidance.

So, the answer is yes, but you can reduce some of the risk through use of PPE, including a wall with a hole drilled through it!

Of course you can. Especially if it involves kissing or touching.
