Be honest but kind. A lot of people desire a lot of things they can't have.  Many parents want grandkids for many reasons. She can want whatever she wants but that doesn't mean she will get what she wants in this case if her son and you choose not to have kids. Your bodies, your marriage, and your finances, means your choice.

It is up to your husband, her son, to deliver the news and to tell her to drop the subject if she continues to bring it up and pester you about it.

Tell her to adopt her own kid

    Tell her too bad.

Explain to her that you are your own person and although you love your mother, you cannot let your life be dictated by someone else.
