Nintendo Switch Multiplayer with Phone Hotspot?

I'm trying to play Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate online using my phone's mobile hotspot. I can connect sometimes, but other times I can't. It's supposedly because of my NAT setting, which is on my data providers end and can't be changed by me. If this is the case then why can I play at all? Does anyone know a way around this?

It's probably more related to the signal strength and consistency since it's relying on your phone's cellular signal.

Switch multiplayer is pretty bad on regular WiFi so I can't imagine it's going to work well with a hotspot.

The only real solution to get the best connection with a Switch is an Ethernet adapter hard wired into a router.
