There's about 6,000 million humans on Earth, and about 100,000,000,000,000 BILLION insects on Earth. Why are insects much more successful?

Update:

Red Fox .... actually we're not. Insects eat FAR more in totality than humans in totality.

Update 2:

Also, billions of insects eat humans every second of every day. And only a tiny, tiny, tiny number of humans ever eat "insects". Clearly, insects are the food chain victors over humans.

The animal kingdom instinctively only to eat, sleep, and procreate. Humans have the ability to reason and make choices. We need to eat and sleep, but we can decide when we want to have off-spring.
