If Trump wins the electoral college, butt loses the poopular vote again, do you think the electoral college could be done away with?

Could the outcry be so great that a constitutional convention is called?

But he just has to win the election for Mike to succeed like LBJ. Skippie can't be Governor anymore.

No matter which way things go crazy will prevail. We're basically a failed state at this point.

IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE WILL BE DONE AWAY WITH IN YOUR LIFETIME

NO as it is the ONLY FAIR way to have people in smaller populated areas and states have a say in it.

The way the Electoral College works now is stipulated by the 12th Amendment of the Constitution.  No Constitutional Convention is required to to amend the Constitution.

This topic comes up every election and then is forgotten

One can really  hope so. If Trump gets reelected, very little will be done about the coronavirus until at least 2025, assuming coronavirus doesn't wipe the US clean off the map by then. The coronavirus wouldn't be such a big problem here if we had real help from the government.

The electoral college is a good system. It works on the same principle as the divided congress. Each state has the same number of electors as the total of senators (2 for each state) and representatives (based on the population of each state). This helps to even out the power of each state. I suppose it slightly helps the smaller states which also tend to be conservative.

Otherwise, the whacked out big city liberals would always decide who leads and force ridiculous philosophies on the more rational freedom seeking states.

We have had zero Constitutional Conventions since the original one.  So I'm guessing a duly elected President, regardless of party, would trigger another one.

Not very likely.  The only "outcry" you'll hear is from mad liberals.  Most states would not find it in their best interests to reduce their power.
