Are third person shooters the same as an FPS but with a model glued to the bottom left of your screen?

honestly most FPS are also third person using a toggle, but i mean pretty much. just the experience is different. my brother prefers to see his character behind a wall so he knows he isn't in line of fire. not to mention fighting 3rd person allows for more strategic gameplay. like dunking and rolling. then you got FPS like COD that you can't really do any of that. i honeslty enjoy both, but 3rd person is a nice change of pace from time to time
