Since when have they stopped putting "The End" in closing credits?

"The End" went out of fashion sometimes in 1960s I think

They found it distracted people from the subliminal advertising in the credits.  If it says "The End" before the closing credits, people rush out of the cinema without having an overwhelming urge to buy a new car.
