    The law provides for that.

What the law does not provide for is for the police to start or maintain some form of physical restraint using excess force when the suspect (not criminal until convicted) has stopped or is not resisting.

I suggest this is where the Minnesota ex cop in the Floyd case will come undone, almost 9 minutes with your knee on his neck when he clearly was not resisting other than saying he cant breath.   Not good.

I think a taser is much better than choking the suspect to death.   I also think use a pellet shotgun airgun that can wound people with weapons (knives and guns).   Be more gentle to criminals.   Maybe they will act gentle too.....

Most americans are better with a pellet gun anyway..... it can cause pain without killing the bad guy....

Taser them if they can and then handcuff them. You aren't supposed to use the knee to the neck restraint because it's considered dangerous.

Use minimum force to restrain him, use handcuffs if possible.

First off that's not how our justice system works.  Cops don't arrest criminals they arrest crime suspects.  Only a court can determine if someone is a criminal.

A cop should be ready with lots of evidence that the suspect was resisting arrest if he intends to charge him with that crime.  And any police officer who  charges someone with resisting arrest without adequate evidence should be disciplined or fired.  In this country over 90 percent of resisting arrest charges are dropped or rejected by district attorneys, that should prove there is massive fraud in the system on the police side.

    Hope that helps.

For the last decade, started under Obama, when a criminal resists, they are to be let go

Go back and watch the news during the riots that were almost every summer under Obama. Listen to what the media and the lefts solutions are, we see it with the burning and looting of business now. Back off, don't stop them, allow them to go through the process.
