2). If an electric field was constant how long would it take for the electron to accelerate the length of the antenna?

Use this information below to answer both questions:

Radio waves passes 1m and have an electric field strength of 1.5x10^-5 N/C.

=> ma = eE

=>a = eE/m

=>a = [(1.6 x 10^-19) x 1.5 x 10^-5)]/(9.1 x 10^-31)

=>a = 2.64 x 10^6 m/s^2

Thus by s = ut + 1/2at^2

=> 1 = 0 + 1/2 x 2.64 x 10^6 x t^2

=>t = √[0.75 x 10^-6]

=>t = 0.87 x 10^-3 sec OR 0.87 ms
