The Pro is only as good as the tv it is connected to, if your tv isnt capable of 4k resolution, theres really no point in connecting a Pro . Personally id just stick with the PS Slim,

The Pro only offers improvements for 4k.  Better to buy the slim and save the extra money for a ps5 one day,

In that case the Pro offers nothing of any benefit to you.

Both consoles would work identically for you, as without an upgraded TV even those games enhanced for the Pro would display as regular unenhanced games.

The Slim is FAR cheaper as a used bargain, and that gives you more money to spend upon games. Also, why invest more on the Pro when the PS5 is on the horizon?

Even if you're not playing in 4K, more recent games run smoother on the Pro, particularly first party titles like God of War. If you care about frame rates then the Pro is the better choice.

The PS5 was announced to come out this year but that announcement also came before COVID happened so who knows what that will look like. I generally don't recommend buying a console on launch anyway since there's always problems.

Slim if you don’t plan on upgrading to 4K or using the VR.

I have a 4K tv but I’m still using the original ps4 because there aren’t that many games that upscales or add improvements.

Perhaps consider holding off, as the PS5 may launch this upcoming November.  Sony is supposed to make an announcement on it within the week.
