When going through TSA, do you have to put your quart size bag with your liquids in a separate bin? or can you leave it in your bag?

Same bin but out of your bag

You can't leave it in your bag, but it doesn't have to be in a separate bin. It can be in the same bin as your other belongings, but it must be clearly visible and accessible, like right on top.

But if for any reason a particular airport wants you to put it in a separate bin they will TELL you before you get to that point.

Put it in a separate bin. This is in order to give the TSA officer an uncluttered view of your carry-on items. (i.e. less chance of your carry-ons being called for a bag inspection.)

It needs to come out of your bag and into a bin, unless you have TSA precheck.  In that case it can stay in your bag.

TSA pre check screened fliers can leave it in their bags. The rest have to take it out and put in a bin

You must remove it from your carry on bag, but it can go into a bin with other things. Just make sure it is NOT buried underneath anything.

You have to put it by itself in a bin, unless you have TSA pre-approved status.

Not correct, it does not have to be in a bin by itself, it can be in a bin with other items
