one ninth of a litre is 111.11 millilitres

so 5/9th is 555.55 orange

and the remainder 444.44 is water

Firstly 1 litre is equal to 1000 millilitres. The question says that 5/9 of 1000 millilitres is pure orange juice and the rest is water. The whole bottle is 9/9, so water must be 4/9 (9/9 - 5/9) of 1000 millilitres. Hence:

5 / 9 * 1000 = 555.56 ml pure orange juice

4 / 9 * 1000 = 444.44 ml water
