Are these sentences correct:

a) "The death toll of Americans during the Vietnam War was 56,000"

b) "The death toll of the shooting was 20."

    They are both correct but not well constructed. "56,00 Americans were killed in the Vietnam war." and "20 people were killed in the mass shooting".
