Would it be possible at all to survive a motorcycle/dirt bike fuel tank explosion while you are riding it? Assume the tank is almost full?

As you are sitting on top of say 15 to 20L of fuel in a metal container,  if that was to explode there are three possible killer forces.

One the metal of the tank would be moving at some unimaginable speed and it would be sharp,  it will cut through what ever flesh it come across so your body will be cut up.

Two the fuel will heat up in a microsecond burning anything it touches and some of that fuel will lad on the freshly cut open person.

Three,  the bang (shock-wave) on its own happening right next to the person will cause a lot of damage to organs.

Three plus, if you were riding at the time the fall alone will cause injury.  Yet even if stationary,  the bike I will still fall trapping the rider.

Actually, since it is the fuel / air mixture that rapidly combusts, the less air, the less combustion. You see, oxygen is required for the burning of hydrocarbons. So, the fuller the tank, the less "explosive" it is. However, once the tank ruptures (see Guy Martin's fireball) and the fuel sprays everywhere, the spraying burning fuel will mix with the ambient air. Air contains 21% oxygen. That's a bunch o' molecules, dude. Generally mc gas tanks are connected such that they are made to release from the mc frame in an accident. Here's another photo of Guy Martin's accident which shows the tank launching vertically and him sliding out of the fireball on the road. (The black thing on the right side is Guy's leg / motorcycle boot as he slides out of the fireball.)

Guy Martin survived this, it just fits a definition of explosion.

How is that Guy still alive? Not just that accident , there seems no end to the stunts he’ll do in addition to his racing accidents.

Full tanks do not explode.  It could rupture though and spill fuel on you.

Yes, it is possible, but you can kiss your manhood goodbye.

Possible = yes.  Probable is a different question.
