If the alcohol is still present, and you can smell it, it's still good. Don't worry about the date.

Most hand sanitizer has alcohol and alcohol evaporates. The amount depends on how it is stored.

It does in theory, although it shouldn't really.

There should be a date on it.

Sanitizer has an expiry date, the efficacy of the sanitizer reduces because of the evaporation of alcohol after a certain period of time. The active component or the key ingredient of Hand Sanitizer is alcohol that is a volatile liquid. Alcohol evaporates quickly when it is exposed to air. Although the hand sanitizers are packaged with some innovative packing in containers that help protect the alcohol evaporation. As the evaporation of alcohol takes place, the percentage of the active ingredient present in hand sanitizer decreases and makes it less effective. The manufacturer estimates how long it will take for the alcohol percentage to drop below 60 % mentioned on the label. That estimated time becomes the expiration date of hand sanitizer.
