Why south east asia is more populated than north east asia ?

Depends what you call NE asia. If you mean the northern half of China, you would also include Japan and korea. Seoul (25m) Tokyo (40m), Beijing (20m) and Shanghai (25m) , so it's pretty densly populated.
If however you mean the area of Russia north of China to the Bering sea, that is very sparsely populated mainly due to very inhospitable conditions esp in winter.

Basically it is warmer and wetter. So there is plenty of water and food can be grown much more easily.
