Stalin did not ban guns. You need to actually read a little history.

    Many.

We all know what Democrats think of Conservatives, it will be a nightmare if they had the power to kill us all.

    It's hard to say.

Firearms for hunting weren't completely banned in the Soviet Union and marksmanship was encouraged, this is why they had such excellent snipers on the Eastern Front.

Firearms for personal protection were banned but I'm not sure how much use a pistol would have been against the NKVD during the purges.

Most of Stalins victims were rounded up in the night after having their houses raided or arrested at their place of work.

I'd say any resistance would have resulted in a quick summary execution.

The penalty for not doing so was ten years' imprisonment.[2] Members of the Communist Party were allowed to have a single weapon (a pistol or a rifle) and possession of the weapon was recorded in the party membership book.
