Are there any true eels that can give off electric shocks?

Sorry, should have been more explanatory. I read recently that electric eels are not true eels but are actually a type of fish. What I was asking was, is there any true species of eel that can shock you? (Electric shock, not venomous)

So-called electric eels are part of the knife-fish group, true.

So, probably there are no eels that deliver shocks. However, there are a fair number of creatures that do (most of them fish...)

Yes. Electric eels give off significant shocks. 860 volts is average. A healthy person would survive the charge but they would feel considerable pain.
