I'm voting Labour at the next election. Will they have sorted their party out by then? It might be 5 years?

In all the years Labour has spent not in power they had plenty of time 'to sort themselves out', they have chosen not to do that.
Labour made a return to power in 1974 but a series of strikes carried out by trade unions over the winter of 1978/79 known as the Winter of Discontent which paralysed the country with no electric, no bins collected, rubbish piling up in the streets, hospitals in crisis, schools closed, the dead going unburied and as Labour lost its majority in parliament leaving the country up to their necks in debt. Labours election victory in 1997 and took the UK into war with Afghanistan and Iraq physically with troops as well as financially following the USs bad decision which gave the terrorists 'reason' to terrorise again losing in 2010 again leaving the UK in debt......... 9 years not in power and with a history of poor and inconsiderate decision making which each time has left the UK in so much debt which takes decades to put right.....I doubt it! leopards don't change their spots"

Who knows? After 1983, their previous worst result in the last 80 years, they didn't get elected again for 14 years. And that involved a complete change of policy under Tony Blair.
