If I get a flu shot this afternoon will I be covered by Christmas Week or does it take longer for the shot to take affect?

A flu vaccination should be fully effective within a week, but you would certainly have some protection within a few days.

The sooner you get it done the sooner the protection will be effective.

Most folk will have had their flu shot back in September or October!

    2 weeks is standard.

  • The flu shot takes about 2 weeks to start working. So you should be good for Christmas week.
