Rope Lights?
When a section of rope light burns out, why can't it be replaced? Why does it have to be thrown away? Most of the time the burnt out section is in the middle.

They are cheap & cheaply made. It would cost more to get it fixed then to just buy a new one.

Usually you can replace bulbs and it's fine, but it is often a huge hassle not worth it compared to the cost of the new lights.

an electrician could probably fix it...so go pay 10x the cost to just replace it

The bulbs in rope lights are enclosed in a soft plastic that you cannot access without cutting open.
