Why wasn't Carl Sagan cryogenically frozen?

By far the greatest enemy to the successful implementation of cryonics is the longevity of civilization. Civilization must remain intact in order for liquid nitrogen to be available to keep the patient frozen until medical science is able to revive them.
I would suggest, based on his writings, that Carl Sagan did not believe that there was much future for human civilization therefore not much point being frozen, because the chances of staying frozen long enough would be essentially zero.

Not unlike many other famous people
like Mike Bloomberg and Bernie Sanders,
Carl Sagan was Jewish, and does not appear
to have been a fan of having his remains frozen.
A traditional Jewish burial seems to have been what he wanted.
Carl Sagan's remains are buried in Ithaca, New York.

Cryo Freezing someone will only preserve their body. Unless Mr. Sagan planned on being put away in a museum or he's selling his body to science (more plausible), there would be no reason to go through this procedure as he can't be rejuvenated.
