Why are crickets a sign of good luck?

Everytime they appear there's a fight in the house or something. I don't understand. They're cute and I wouldn't kill them, but I don't think they bring good luck necessarily. If anything, they're like a warning to me lol. What do you think?

Well...in most cultures they are not.

    In Eastern Asian culture

and in some (by no means all) native American and African cultures

crickets are considered to be good luck.

The basis for these beliefs is definitely not known. Some guesses ("hypotheses") have been made.
