im 39 years old and my blood pressure is 171/59 is that normal?

    No, that's a high systolic blood pressure reading, and having anything over 139 or 129 for diabetics or people with kidney problems for systolic, is considered hypertension. Specifically having a raised systolic blood pressure but normal or low diastolic blood pressure is called Isolated Systolic Hypertension (ISH) and carries an increased risk of developing heart attacks or strokes and should be treated.

      Actually referring to that pressure as a wide pulse pressure would be more accurate & it could be due to numerous factors.

    that sounds high, you need to see a doctor and get on meds to bring it down
