Does anyone know how to unlock this?

Hello everyone,

this is a door to our gas meters. It has been always unlocked but suddenly someone locked it and the building manager claims it can be unlocked with FB2key which it can not because there is no way to insert it in the tiny hole. Does anyone know how to unlock it? Thank you

Probably a Spline key (or Rack Bolt) key.

Take an axe to the top panel nearest the lock. Make an opening large enough to reach into and unlock from the inside.

Oh mate I wasn't very far from doing that.

It is to the gas meters so nothing in there for you. The gas man will know how to open it and so will the Building Manager.

I have to submit the readings so yeah there is very much for me in there.

Looks like an ordinary "t-bar" key would fit, or perhaps an ordinary flat-head screwdriver would work. A t-bar has a square tip with a taper, allowing it to fit into worn locks as well as new ones.

Looks like a spline key hole.

seems to me that it required a key to lock the bolt. That would mean that someone has one. If you can wait, place a sign on the door saying "leave door unlocked". else, you're going to have to try every type of near round key imaginable. [can the cover be removed using a screwdriver? ... if so, might help you see inside to discover the type of key required.]

That door looks like it has an unventilated room behind it.  If so, that is no place for a gas meter.  The photo is the wrong door.

Press "T" and write: "/unlock door"

    Or try to spell "friend"
