Can this be recycled?

My city (Oklahoma City) accepts paper & cardboard, plastics 1-7, glass, tin, steel, and aluminum. I have always recycled glass bottles. A neighbor told me that you should only recycle materials, including glass, that have the 'recycle' symbol on them. None of these glass bottles I have been recycling have this symbol.

    Your neighbor needs a laxative.

To say it again "glass can be recycled". But I thought the Czech ate glass at rave parties so never had any glass around to recycle.

Because you should trust a random neighbour rather than city recycling programmes.

To mangle a quote of Arnaud Amaury of 1209 "Recycle it all - and let the city sort it out".

Check with your recycling center what they do and don't accept, different centers, different rules.

Most, but not all glass can be recycled. Light bulbs and leaded glass are common exceptions. There are a few reasons for the lack of a recycling symbol on recyclable glass. Examples are really small bottles and ones old enough to antedate the requirement.

Except things like broken windows or windows in general.
