Why are liberals so surprised to learn the Nazi party was a socialist organization?
The National Socialist German Workers' Party, commonly referred to in English as the Nazi Party, was a far-left political party in Germany that was active between 1920 and 1945, that created and supported the ideology of National Socialism. Its precursor, the German Workers' Party, existed from 1919 to 1920. Wikipedia

Liberals are even more surprised to learn that, as a young man, Democrat icon, John F. Kennedy admired NAZI ideals and expressed keen interest in the Hitler Youth Movement and that his father, Joseph, was considered Germany's best friend in London as US Ambassador to pre-war Britain.

Because National Socialism is the opposite of socialism so anything that supports national socialism cannot be a socialist organiztion.
And they were very far right, not left.

Why are conservatives so stupid to think anyone is going to believe this nonsense?
Read a book for once on your life. I recomend the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L Shire. First piblished in 1960 and considered the seminal work on the Nazis

You changed the wikipedia quote. It actually said FAR RIGHT, not far left. You sneaky little mynx.
Because during the time it was called the NAZI party, it was not a socialist organization, and it was not a far left-organization. It did not promote ANY socialist agenda, it did not advocate for the transfer of any corporate assets to the state, it did not ever implement even one socialist reform. None of Hitler's speeches mention anything about socializing any market. Hitler had many socialist killed.
Why the name then? Well there was a socialist revolution in Germany in 1918, which resulted in all the major political parties including the word "socialist" in their party name. I hope this helps dispel the incredible ignorance you seem to have about Nazis and Socialism.

Yeah, they hated communists. Words have little definitive meaning in politics. A party can call its self whatever it wants. And hitler was not really known for his honesty.

The name said socialist. They were nationalist, and fought the socialist Russians.
Socialist is the opposite of Capitalist and although Conservative Republicans make it a political term, it is not.
You are either a moron or troll to post this crap. I assume a troll because few people are that stupid.
Per comment - Nazi Party was fascist and grew to eliminate "racial impurity".
The question is a jumble of socio-economic-political.

There appears to be something wrong with your copy and paste skills:
"The National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: About this soundNationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (help·info), abbreviated NSDAP), commonly referred to in English as the Nazi Party (English: /ˈnɑːtsi, ˈnætsi/), was a far-right political party in Germany that was active between 1920 and 1945, that created and supported the ideology of National Socialism. Its precursor, the German Workers' Party (Deutsche Arbeiterpartei; DAP), existed from 1919 to 1920. "
Next you will be telling us that North Korea is democratic since their full name is "Democratic People's Republic of Korea".Source(s): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_Party
