The Democrats of 1860 are not the same Democrats of today. In fact, you could also say the Democrats of 1960 arent the same Democrats of today.

I know Republicans hate this little fact of history which is why they keep coming here and spout their nonsense but trolls on Yahoo answers cant rewrite history even though they think they can.

What you should do to educate yourself is do a little research into the history of Americas two political parties and how they have treated Africans and their descendents over the last 150 years. You'll find that things aren't quite the way Steve Bannon has taught you.

    Yes, Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky

Presidential maps from 1960 show that all southern states at that time, from the Atlantic to Texas, supported the Southern Democratic candidate, John Breckinridge, except for VA, TN, and KY who supported the Constitutional Union Party candidate, John Bell.

They were controlled by Northern Democrats and the Confederate state legislatures were controlled by Southern Democrats.
