Are grapes hydrating? (This is all I have for lunch and it is very hot in this workplace) green-grapes* unsure if the color makes a differen?

Yes, but not like drinking water. Grapes, oranges, pineapple, peaches, melons, etc. all have a water content of over 80%.
As Patricia noted, all these fruits also have a high sugar content. That doesn't necessarily detract from their ability to hydrate, but they aren't the best choice as your only nutrition.

Water is hydrating. Grapes are a watery fruit (loaded with sugars)

They are, yes. Things that have refined sugar in them aren't.
