How do I calculate a stock dividend pay out by looking at his dividend/yield?

So I’m looking at a stock (ATVI) and it’s price is $40.45 with a dividend/yield of 0.47

How do I determine/calculate the dividend payout that this stock will give back?

Simple...that .47 is 47 cents per share of stock. Got nothing to do with the market value at the time. So if you have 100 shares of ATVI when the dividend is declared, you'll get a $47 check, direct deposit, or whatever you signed up for when you bought the shares.

It is not uncommon to find stocks where the dividends are just pennies per share. Publicly held companies would rather declare pennies per share than no dividends at all. Stockholders do not take kindly to no dividends at all.
