Anxiety and panic disorder is not dangerous, it can feel that way though. I am diagnosed with Bipolar I and have experienced extreme panic attacks (due to mixed episodes), bipolar is periodic though so I only experience panic attacks and being anxious when deeply depressed or have a mixed episode (symptoms of mania/hypomania with depression symptoms). Some people have learnt to deal with panic attacks and anxiety on their own whilst other’s anxiety has gotten worse, now that you have seeked help, you should continue. Most times, panic attacks itself do not have any dangerous side effects but it is really irritating. My panic attacks atleast didn’t have these side effects but bipolar was horrible for my body, I didn’t sleep properly for weeks due to mania and my body began hurting whilst I couldn’t relax. Depression lead to cutting, alcohol abuse, painkiller abuse and my body was a wreak. I have recovered and feel much better now though, I can sleep, I live a stable happier life.
