The problem of firearms seems blatantly obvious in the hands of minors and those who kill their own family members (even those described as Family Annihilators) as we've been reading almost everyday in the news. But suppose firearms were outlawed, who or what would compel the criminally minded to surrender their firearms? Surely you must realize that criminals who are prone to violence aren't too willing to surrender their firearms, like muggers, robbers, home invaders, gangbangers... and those who feel a firearm makes their testicles grow. Yes, outlaw firearms altogether and what do we do with homeowners and law-abiding citizenry who will be at the mercy of armed criminals? The problem is not the firearm but the mental state of some and the nefarious intentions of others; the problem at hand is the easy access to firearms by those who are emotional and/or psychologically impaired/inbalanced and, of course, criminals. At present the real problem is the easy access to firearms by those who are not qualified to own them, and the firearm manufacturers that support and control the National Rifle Association that prevents corrective legislation at any cost and the "legally" manufactured firearms that have flooded all sectors of society, and too often fall in the hands of those not qualified to own them.
