i live in sri lanka aka asian and i just imported a xbox one x from usa and mt friend told me that if i plug my xbox one in it will break becuse defferent contries use defferent power limits is this true ?

No, your Xbox One X won't break.

It is true that different countries have different power voltages -- the US (along with other countries like Japan and Canada) use 100-120V while most of the rest of the world uses 220-240V. Plugging something that expects 110V into 220V will fry it.

However, the Xbox One X has a universal power supply in it that auto-detects the voltage and works no matter what you plug it into. All you need is the right power cord. The Xbox One S is the same. It's the early Xbox One that had either region-specific or multivotage power supplies so you had to be careful with those.

Never try to use a video device made for one country in another country
until and unless you sort out the similarities and differences in power and video standards.

It is likely that even if you use a suitable transformer to convert the voltage
you still won't be able to use the unit.

Yes. Without an adapter, you will fry your system.

This is what I found doing a little googling: In Sri Lanka the power sockets are of type D, M and G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.

You cannot use your electric appliances in Sri Lanka without a voltage converter, because the standard voltage in Sri Lanka (230 V) is higher than in the United States of America (120 V).

well if you can plug it in at all then give it a crack, or alternatively you could just google what voltage and ampage each country uses and if they're the same you will be fine. But if the voltage is too high for example it is possible to kill your console yes.
